Part P
Part P of the Building Regulations (England & Wales) was introduced by the government on January 1st 2005. It is designed to reduce accidents caused by faulty electrical installations and to prevent incompetent installers from leaving electrical installations in an unsafe condition. The 17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations has been recently published and is in force from 1 July 2008. New installations are to this standard.
